JOB TITLE

Market Manager

DESCRIPTION

Our Market Manager is the main point person for the functioning of our market events. The Market Manager oversees our vendor relations, coordinates logistics pertaining to our market site and equipment, secures permits and ensures regulations are met. On market days, our Market Manager provides oversight and sees to the general functioning of market operations, including site layout, coordinating vendors, managing volunteers, and supervising our market information booth. In addition, our Market Manager tends to various peripheral duties that support our organization including advertising, coordinating musicians, and managing our merchandise program.

COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Nederland Farmers Market was established in 2016 to create a marketplace for locally (and regionally) grown food, for supporting small business development, to create a healthy gathering place for the community, and to support the development of local agriculture. Going into our 8th year of operation, we have become a mainstay event in the Peak to Peak region due to our reputation for creating a welcoming and enjoyable space for vendors and community alike. Starting May 14 this year, we will host 11 markets on alternating Sundays, including 2 larger, festival-style markets (with additional vendors and larger musical acts). Additionally, we operate a Local Food Share CSA program for 23 consecutive weeks, between May 14 and October 1. Through our food access programs (SNAP and DUFB), we make nutrient-dense, locally grown food more accessible for less resourced community members. We also collaborate with other local food organizations in the area to address food security and food systems issues.
